Tria, the beauty clinic chain owned by Korean cosmetics giant Samsung, has been offering a skin test and skin moisturiser for more than a decade.
But in March, a customer asked the company if she could try Tria’s TriaSkin cream for a $10 test.
The skin test is designed to detect scabies and other skin infections, according to a statement by Tria spokeswoman Kim Jinhee.
“This is a test that has been around for a long time and is being widely used in Korean communities to help find scabies,” she said.
After Tria started offering the skin test, a new customer who tested positive to scabies in the U.S. sent a request for the cream, the statement said.
A representative from Tria said it will start testing the cream in Korea in the coming months.
